The name is Gauld, Will Gauld.
I am a self-taught brand designer and strategist based in Fife, Scotland. No degree. No formal training. Everything I know, I built from scratch.
I understand what it is like to build a business from nothing - with nobody checking in to tell you things are going in the right direction. GauldDesign exists to give that confidence back to the owner.
GauldDesign sits at the intersection of graphic design and brand strategy. I am not here to make things look pretty for the sake of it. I am here to make your business look as good as it actually is - and then make that perception work hard for you.
I work with start-ups and small businesses across Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, and the rest of Fife. People building something real, who want to be seen the right way.
The ambition? To be the best branding specialist Fife has ever produced. Working on it, every single day.

No shortcuts. Built the hard way - because there was no other way. That means I understand what it takes to create something from nothing.

Local knowledge, national ambition. Rooted in Fife, built for growth. Being here is deliberate, not a limitation.
Strategy + Craft
Not just logos. Identity systems that work across every surface, every time. Design with direction - not decoration.
The backstory.
Most branding problems are not about how your logo looks or what colours you use. They are about decisions. Decisions made without enough information, without a clear strategy, or without understanding what the brand actually needs to communicate.
That gap - between how good a business is and how it comes across - is what GauldDesign exists to close. I have seen too many genuinely excellent businesses in Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, and across Fife held back by branding that does not reflect what they have built.
I care about doing this properly. That means understanding your business before the design starts. It means asking the right questions, diagnosing the real problem, and building something that works - not just something that looks nice in a portfolio.
Every project starts with clarity. If I cannot explain why a design decision was made, the decision was wrong. That standard applies to every logo, every colour choice, every piece of type. No exceptions.
